Elie Saab

Sometimes the fashion industry can be ugly, not the clothes, but sometimes its the way the industry works and the people in it, as you all might of know it. So, I try to look at other areas in the industry to help me through the day and I wanted it with you.

Elie Saab is one of my all time favorite "Dress Designer" The first time I found out about his work, I was looking for inspiration for my bridesmaid dress. My sister was googling dresses and found some of his beautiful dresses and showed them to me. I instantly felt in love with it. I've had great appreciation for his work since then. They inspire me to look at the other side of the fashion industry "beauty." To create beautiful clothing even when the industry is a ugly place to be. To make sure that everything I design I put all my heart into it, that such an ugly environment can still be beautiful at times.

"Elie Saab has become synonymous with luxury and modernism. A serious courtier with a power and unique vision, Saab takes luxury to its zenith, design for women that are both dreamlike and elegant."

Bagatelles & Co.

Rym grew up in sunny Tunisia, by the beach, inspired by her environment: plants, paintings, beautiful fabrics, and reading. Bagatelles & Co. all started last summer when she could not find a nice evening bag for a wedding then she decided to make one herself. She uses recycled and recyclable materials to make quality bags. Click here for Bagatelles & Co.

Rym, You are Good! I'm loving it!

What to Wear for Summer Parties

Summer is finally here! The warm summer sun and the cool breeze. What to do? Hit the beach, the resort, or throw a backyard beach theme party! I've been asked what what to wear when going out for a summer parties.... Well, there are many new styles and colors to choose from, this year. Of course no body wants to look or feel out of place, but like they say, it's always better to be over-dressed then under-dressed.

First of all, it's very important to wear something that you will feel comfortable, yet elegant. You don't want to feel dehydrated, sweaty, or irritable while your are meeting new people and friends. Any light weight materials will make you feel fresh and it's always better against your skin: Natural fibers such as Cotton, linen, and silk. Others could be cotton lace or anything sheer.

For colors, I'd say wear the colors that looks good on you! For example the colors for this season is white, this doesn't mean you have to wear white. How to choose what color looks better on you? Hold the color up next to your face. For prints, use the most concentrated colors on the prints. The colors should make your eyes stand out, brighten your skin color, healthier looking face, and most of all you should look fresh. But keep in mind, dark shades will make you warmer, to keep cool try to keep the color light or pastel.

Here are some image to get inspired from. Enjoy!

Brown Rice Family - Inspiring Video

Japanese store in SoHo & Etsy, The Brown Rice Family

The Brown Rice Family believes that the most natural way is the most civilized way. They initially started out as a world roots band and later on gathers inspirations from all the world to create fresh and healthy music. They have evolved into an independent company creating environmental- friendly products by only using neutral ingredients in their soap and music.

"Ancient rhythms of the world inspired us to see that core values of our life are being compromised due to our society’s foolish ambition for mass production. We learned that almost all products that we consume contribute to our severe global pollution. We want to be free from these poisonous and low quality products that big companies are feeding us. We know that in order to be a true independent organization we must have control over our own necessities such as food, clothing, housing and personal care products. Our goal is to make high quality natural products that would meet the necessities of first, the Brown Rice Family. Then we want to share the same products in accordance with one love. " - Brown Rice Family

Ask Me In Any Colors

This is a sample color sheet I made for the dress Kira bought. We've been having lots of fun playing around with different color schemes to find her the right color dress she is looking for a wedding in the summer. It is always exciting to get a different end result. Kira responded back today and loved the green and yellow, and she has already found the perfect shoe to match her new dress. Ask me, in any colors :)
