Elie Saab

Sometimes the fashion industry can be ugly, not the clothes, but sometimes its the way the industry works and the people in it, as you all might of know it. So, I try to look at other areas in the industry to help me through the day and I wanted it with you.

Elie Saab is one of my all time favorite "Dress Designer" The first time I found out about his work, I was looking for inspiration for my bridesmaid dress. My sister was googling dresses and found some of his beautiful dresses and showed them to me. I instantly felt in love with it. I've had great appreciation for his work since then. They inspire me to look at the other side of the fashion industry "beauty." To create beautiful clothing even when the industry is a ugly place to be. To make sure that everything I design I put all my heart into it, that such an ugly environment can still be beautiful at times.

"Elie Saab has become synonymous with luxury and modernism. A serious courtier with a power and unique vision, Saab takes luxury to its zenith, design for women that are both dreamlike and elegant."

Bagatelles & Co.

Rym grew up in sunny Tunisia, by the beach, inspired by her environment: plants, paintings, beautiful fabrics, and reading. Bagatelles & Co. all started last summer when she could not find a nice evening bag for a wedding then she decided to make one herself. She uses recycled and recyclable materials to make quality bags. Click here for Bagatelles & Co.

What to Wear for Summer Parties

Summer is finally here! The warm summer sun and the cool breeze. What to do? Hit the beach, the resort, or throw a backyard beach theme party! I've been asked what what to wear when going out for a summer parties.... Well, there are many new styles and colors to choose from, this year. Of course no body wants to look or feel out of place, but like they say, it's always better to be over-dressed then under-dressed.

First of all, it's very important to wear something that you will feel comfortable, yet elegant. You don't want to feel dehydrated, sweaty, or irritable while your are meeting new people and friends. Any light weight materials will make you feel fresh and it's always better against your skin: Natural fibers such as Cotton, linen, and silk. Others could be cotton lace or anything sheer.

For colors, I'd say wear the colors that looks good on you! For example the colors for this season is white, this doesn't mean you have to wear white. How to choose what color looks better on you? Hold the color up next to your face. For prints, use the most concentrated colors on the prints. The colors should make your eyes stand out, brighten your skin color, healthier looking face, and most of all you should look fresh. But keep in mind, dark shades will make you warmer, to keep cool try to keep the color light or pastel.

Here are some image to get inspired from. Enjoy!

My Move to L.A

Hello.

So I decided to move to L.A. about three weeks ago and finally went for it. The husband and I took the Amtrak train about 6 days ago. It was very comfortable on the train and a very beautiful ride. I would choose to ride the train over flying if I have the time to travel. It's spacious, quiet, relaxing and you can carry more luggage without paying extra for them.

We are here in L.A. now and everything has been great and beautiful. You have probably heard this like a broken record before, but I still have to say: the only thing that we don't like so far is the traffic. Busy! Busy! Makes me want to pull my hair out! We've been searching for a place to live and so most of our days have been spent driving around in the car, about 9 hours in the car everyday since we got here. So far the apartment hunting has crashed me by the end of the day and put me to sleep like a baby.

Here are some pictures from the train ride. New Mexico, Arizona, and LA mountains. Enjoy!
